I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like-minded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

Some inspiration from our DT

Kimx
I used the fabulous stamp set from Hobby Art for my card as well as some handmade background paper created using inks and the Creative Pallete.

Viv
A CAS card from me for this challenge!

Josephine

I've used some Sizzix dies and a technique I spotted recently of insetting the die cuts into the background. More details on my blog.

Vania

I created a background with a clarity stencil and dylusions. I also used Dylusions on the Chocolate Baroque stamped butterfly.

Sympathy Bugs by Wee Stamps, coloured with Copics.

I used Sheena Douglas, MFT and Indigo Blue stamps to create my dragonfly card; the background was created with Distress Inks and Perfect Pearls.

Jackie
My card this time is monochrome black and and white with a stamped and zendoodled butterfly which was covered with microbeads.  I used a tonic die for the "doily" and a Martha Stewart punch for the paper ribbon.

#114 A Floral Profusion (Handmade Flowers) Winner and Top 5

Before I announce the winner and Top 5 for our last challenge can I make a plea. Sadly I had to disallow several entries because those people simply hadn’t bothered to read the post prior to adding their entry. They saw the title, Floral Profusion, presumably on Paper Playful and then just went ahead and added their entry even if it had no handmade flowers on it at all. Some were even just images of flowers, and no dimensional flowers were added.
Whilst we are all doing this for fun. The team do work hard to try and inspire you and it’s disheartening when it’s clear that a lot of folks don’t even bother to read the top line of the challenge post (I always define what we want in the top line, it’s not like you have to read through reams of paragraphs to get to the theme!). Anyhow to those of you who did read what we were after, we thank you, and we have our winner and top 5 below.
Fiona was our hostess for our Floral Profusion challenge and she has chosen her winner and Top 5 as follows:-

and Fiona's Top 5 in numerical order

8 Norma

25 Papersniffer

42 Liz

45 Rocky

47 Karola (Lola)

Congratulations to you all, please feel free to display our Winner’s badge or Top 5 badge on your blogs. Would the winner please contact me at the address in the sidebar stating the number of the challenge, the title of the challenge and which prize they have won in the subject line

The winners have until 11th May to claim their prize, after which time I am afraid the prizes will be forfeit. As we choose our winners, rather than having a random number thingy to pick them it's too difficult and time consuming to go back again and go through the entries to pick out new winners. Neither, sadly do we have time to chase the winners up. If you have emailed and heard nothing, please follow it up with a comment under the winner post as recently I lost a few emails in the spam folder!

#114 A Floral Profusion HANDMADE FLOWERS

Fiona is hosting our challenge today and she has chosen 'A Floral Profusion' for her theme. She would love to see your creations which showcase your HANDMADE FLOWERS, the more the merrier!

Some inspiration from our DT

 Fiona
I have coloured my image with my ProMarkers. To make my flowers I have used a Cheery Lynn Miniature Rose die and also a Nellie Snellen flower punch.

Josephine

I used a lovely image from our sponsor called 'Butterfly and Ladybird' and teamed it with lots of hand-made flowers!

Cindy
This fortnight I decided to make a wall hanging. The centre image is from our sponsor called 'Tess Summer Fun' and all the flowers have been hand made using a variety of dies.

Carole

The image for my card is 'Benson Bear - Bundle of Hearts' from our sponsor. I have teamed it up with flowers made from Crafter's Companion Rose Quilling dies!!

Yvonne

A layered card with a sentiment and some  handmade flowers.

Suze
I've made a small gift box using a Sizzix die and adorned it with two handmade flowers.  The gingham one is made from ribbon and the cream felt one has been cut with the Tim Holtz pine cone die.

Kimx
I used an old Lili of the Valley topper for my card as well as a floral embossing folder and some die cut flowers.

Vania

I coloured my image with Crayola Pencils before doube matting it. The flowers are all from Prima and the sentiment is from a new CTMH stamp set.

Lin
I've made a summer wreath to brighten up my craft space, which is looking a little tired.

I particularly liked the use of different techniques (and hair gel!!) with this one.

and for the prize from

DI'S DIGISTAMPS
I really liked the fact that the card looked like a frame because of the way the embellishments had been used, and the image was coloured beautifully.

and Jackie's Top 5 in numerical order
