Happy New Year & Your input required!

Firstly I hope you all had a wonderful New Year and are sticking to those resolutions hehe! A huge thank you to everyone for taking part in our challenges and I hope you continue to join us regularly!

Nextly I'd like to get your input on what you'd like to cover in terms of tutorials. We have several in the sidebar on the right already but I like to plan ahead so please do leave feedback in the comments box below as to what you'd like to learn more about. One suggestion is to differentiate between altered art, collage, mixed media and so on, others are using distress inks and also brayering so please do shout up. We are a learning resource primarily and the blog is shaped around trying new techniques and products and for helping our newer cardmakers make sense of everything so if you'd like to know more about something or can remember what you wanted to learn about when you were starting out then let me know :)

Many thanks!

  3. Ok - the first thing I would like to see - is how to get myself organised enough to have time to craft and then if I get the time to craft, how to get my mojo firing in a limited time!
The second thing - how to shift my hairy little butt to get out all the things that I have bought and actually use them! Especially my delightful wishblade!
On a more serious note - perhaps tips for cutting shapes when you dont have nestabilities etc (yes I know I have the wishblade and that this would be perfect to do that but....read the point above! LOLX)

thanks for the blog - I have used some of the tips already

  5. Hi Vix, thank's for the top 3 spot again...
One thing I never knew and was too embarrassed to ask, what is a crop? I have hear about them but I don't do craft group's so I haven't a clue.

Also need some help with the differences with and uses of dye ink's and alcohol ink's.
    Thank's

  6. I'm putting this down as alot of newbie crafters dont know much, but how about

Highlighting - when colouring - using a 'source' of light to help you know where to put shading and where to keep light.

    Masking - of stamped images.

Embossing - the many techniques and effects you can use it for - dry and powder.

Just some ideas to get you guys thinking.

  7. Hi Vix :)
I'd love some info on Heat Embossing.
I have no idea what brayering is so maybe that would be a good one to cover?

  8. All sound good to me! Already done masking but things to do with embossing powder is fun.

Shaped cards yes, perhaps we will collate a collection of free links and to commercial templates.

No nesties, me neither! I use cd's or these acrylic shapes from whispers and draw round.

  10. Hi there

I would love a tutorial on using acetate on cards. I have not mastered how to stamp onto acetate and would love to know any hints, tricks and inks to use ;-)

Also how to tie bows on ribbons, mine always look so clumsy LOL!
