I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art.

Long may it continue!

We're pleased to sponsor the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge and look forward to seeing the entries.

Good luck everyone.  Jenny and all. X

I am delighted to say that Jenny from Hobby Art is due back on our screens, courtesy of Create and Craft TV on Thursday 5th September at 2pm!

Here is how the team interpreted the challenge:-

Josephine

I've used a Michael Powell image which I stamped onto smooth card before colouring with Promarkers. The background paper was made using a mixture of ink dusters, stencilling and rubber stamping. The holly sprig was cut using a Joanna Sheen die.

Betty CH
I've drawn the background using watercolours to make Magnolia Tilda look like she is walking in the snow.
A  homemade stamped/embossed background using metallic powders, with a Stampendous image stamped with Memento London Fog.

Cindy
A very simple Christmas Card using one of the first stamps I ever bought. Snowflakes have been  stamped with versamark and dusted with mica powders for a shimmery background and of course, there's a little bit of glitter!!

Viv
A CAS wintry themed card from me this time - bright white pearl card, embossing folders, snowflake dies, lots of stickles and some blingy bits!

For my card I have used a LOTV stamp called "Santa" which I have coloured with my ProMarkers and added lots of Icicle Stickles. My paper is from the Fizzy Moon Christmas pack. For my snowflakes I have used my Die-namic dies.

For my card I merged 2 images the Snowglobe is by NPerry and Jackie Frost by Tickled Pink. She is coloured with Flex & Promarkers and I added some Frantage around the edges to look like snow.

For my tag I clear embossed some snowflakes then inked with Stormy Sky. Mr Snowman and the holly garland are coloured with Promarkers then I added some faux snow, stickles and glitter (it's really quite shiny and sparkly IRL).  The sentiment is American Crafts, all other stamps are Hero Arts.

I have used a snowflake embossing folder on the kraft card base and a snowy scene embossing folder for the main image which I've lightly dusted over with Distress Ink to highlight the image and added stickles for some snowy sparkle!

This time I have been playing with embossing powders. Both the "normal" detailed one in white using an image from IndigoBlu. My "snowy" dots is made with the Frantage embossing powders in white and some glitter flakes to that. A piece of lace between the layers finish this simple card off.

For my card I have used Bertie the Snowman from one of our sponsors Hobby Art.

My card was made entirely from my stash this time - I used a Hunkydory topper left over from a kit 2 years ago, and a plain card base embossed with an embossing folder and highlighted with distress inks.

I used this cute LOTV stamp on watercolor paper and colored using water soluble pens and a water-brush. I touch of glitter finishes off this simple Christmas scene.

Tracey
Christmas snow and ice always makes me think of blue and white or silver, which is why I chose these colours, and clear cold winter nights with a sky full of stars. All of my papers are from HOTP, ribbon is Offray and the die-cut stars have faux stitching in silver.

Lin
My image is from a free CDRom, I think it was from the My Craft Studio of cds. All the embellishments are from Craftwork Cards from their Ornaments pad, but I glittered them and added dimensional snow to them, and the front of the card with a snow writer.

    1. I have left you a more detailed comment on your own blog. I think you have linked to CCM via bloglovin' and you need to link in the normal way, in order for the little blue frog to be able to find you link.

    3. I have never come across it before either Lizy, but I did a quick bit of research and it appears that if you click on the blog directly from the bloglovin' list it opens it in their frame, so that essentially if you then copy the link from there it comes the frame link as well. I suspect we may well see more and more of this as bloglovin' becomes more popular!

Glad you were able to link though as your card is gorgeous, and I would have hated for the blog readers to miss out on seeing it!

    1. Hi Cookie,

There is always a time listed under the linky button, currently it says 5d 14h 47m, but essentially we generally publish every second Monday at 12 noon UK time and the linky closes on the Sunday before the next challenge is due to go live, again at 12 noon. So from when we publish you have just shy of 14 days to create and enter....

We look forward to seeing you!
