#165 Monochrome

Kim is hosting our challenge today and the theme is Monochrome. We would like to see your creations using MOSTLY one colour (hair and skin tones are allowed). Please make sure though that there is only one other main colour.
You can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

Kim
I went for shades of black for my hexagonal background and some dotty black ribbon. Of course I didn't think of how well it would photograph when I made it lol.

Josephine
A very simple card, using dies from, among others, Tonic and Joanna Sheen.

Judy
I have used Stampin Up designer paper for the background of my card then added a sentiment and Stamped and die cut butterfly from Tim Holtz.  To complete my card I added a flower and brad.
I used the water colour technique in shades of Aqua including inking  my butterfly and sentiments.

Mary
I used Tattered Lace and Tonic dies for this birthday card.

Used my own Masterboard for this, cut into squares and layered up. Tim Holtz birds and Honey Doo Crafts sentiment stamp. Finished with the addition of black gems and blue brads.

I used a Unity Stamp - Head Up, Heart Strong stamped on vellum, then colored the back of the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and adhered to my card with Zyron adhesive.  This card is for my sister who just celebrated 5 years of being cancer free!

I have created a background with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and used the paper piecing technique on the cute penguin by MFT.

Jackie

My card was made using diecuts, some brilliance inks and stamps for the background, and some stamped and cut out flowers.

I have used a La La Land Dress Form Die and an embossing folder for some texture.

I went for the faux stitching, because my sewing machine doesn't like me, but I went all in: stitched frame, focus area and sentiment ;o)

Josephine
So, real stitching, and nothing else from me! The flower pattern is from a book I've had for a while and I really like how it turned out.

Judy

My card is a combination of real and faux stitches. The rubber stamped images are from Tim Holtz and Class Act Rubber stamps. The sewing machine and scissors are chipboard by Southern Ridge Trading Company.

Angela
This card is layered with my own Masterboard papers and stamped faux stitching. The stamps are by Crescendoh and the sentiment dies are Tim Holtz then finished off with small pearls.

Mary
I used across stitch design from a very old Cross Stitcher magazine and placed it inside a mini aperture card which I then attached to a larger card. The papers used on the larger card are printed using volume 2 of redoute's 'Les Belles Fleurs' CD ROM.
My stitching is faux stitching and is created by my die. Please see my blog for details

My first attempt at embroidery on paper. There are mistakes but I enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone here. Just added a sentiment and bling to finish.

I have used faux stitching on my card which was made using Woodware stamps.

Real stitching was used on my card. I wrote "hi" in pencil on lightweight card stock, then used my paper piercer to create the holes for the stitches. Blue embroidery floss for stitching and a pearl for the finishing touch to the sentiment. The background is embossed vellum. A fun challenge!

My sewing machine is buried under a pile of other things right now, so I reverted to the tried and tested faux stitching for my projectMy monochrome card uses paper from my stash, and a tattered lace diecut.

I have used real Stitching and a Whimsy Stamp which is called Berry Sweet

We are looking forward to seeing all your lovely stitching variations.

I have used some beautiful shimmery pearl droplets on this card.

Josephine
I've used an image and paper from the Crafter's Companion Kimono collection along with some gem flourishes to make this card for my sister.
I used a butterfly die from Memory Box called floating butterflies for my card. Behind the die I used one of my Gelli Plate prints made in my favourite colours of greens and blues. To complete the card I added some pearls and gems for sparkle.

Ina
I used different dies and foam squares to add dimensionand finished with sprinkles of pearls.

Mary
I used paper and decoupage from the first House Mouse Designs project book and added graduated pearls to the band of ribbon.

Pam
I had a blast making this purse.  I used pearls on the straps, tag and the clasp.

Marlene
I have used a Delicious Doodles Image called Wistful Fairy, lots of pearls and flowers

I'm using up some left over Masterboard for this card andSpellbinders butterflies finished with pearl brads.

Maike
I coloured some clear gems, so that they now resemble all the colours of the rainbow.

Lin
As you can see I went for both pearls and gems on my card. Please see my blog for details
