Challenge 88 - Humour

Welcome to our latest challenge, hosted by Suze, who has chosen the theme of Humour.

It's April Fool's Day, a day for fun and trickery! Suze would therefore like to see some HUMOUR in your project. Perhaps a funny image or sentiment, or you might just want to add some googly eyes. Remember, laughter is the best medicine - so have fun!

PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE RULES BEFORE ADDING YOUR CREATION AND CHECK IT MEETS THE CRITERIA AS LAID OUT ABOVE, IE, IT RELATES TO HUMOUR - ANY ENTRY NOT COMPLYING WILL UNFORTUNATELY BE REMOVED

Last time around I had to delete 24 entries from people who just didn’t read the rules/requirements before entering - Because of this all links will now be moderated, please be patient whilst I get the chance to check that your link meets the requirements before adding it to the blog. You will add your link as normal, it just won’t appear immediately. Sorry to have to do this to all our entrants who do take the time to read the rules/requirements before entering. If you are having issues with any other linking matter please mail me at the address in the side bar >>>>>>>

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art.
Long may it continue!

Mouse Power

Bubble Bath

As a family business we're a friendly, helpful, bunch at Hobby Art.  All our stamps are designed by us and manufactured in Britain.
Look at the gallery on my blog - jennymayes.com - for lots of card ideas using the Hobby Art range.
We're pleased to sponsor the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge and look forward to seeing the entries.

Good luck everyone.  Jenny and all. X

Here is how the team interpreted the challenge:-

I've made a CAS card using a dog stamp by Inkadinkadoo. I made up my own sentiment on the PC and mounted them onto Stampin' Up DP. (I've a couple more cards on my blog).

Viv
I really struggled with this challenge! Humour is such a personal thing isn't it and what makes me laugh may make someone else look at me like I've lost what few marbles I've got left!!! I opted for a CAS style card, just stamped, matted and layered and 3 button embellishments.
It's Cat's Birthday, guess who need to bring her present? .......................easy right 'The Mice'. The candle will rise up when the card is opened.

Jackie
I was recently asked to make a funny card for a man who was hitting the big 50.... he is a Yorkshire lad, so it occurred to me that a nice pint of yorkshire bitter was obviously on tap in this bar scene from the La Pashe CD rom.

Julie
I saw this gorgeous digi from Redonkulous Designs called 'Funny Face' a few weeks ago and saved her for this challenge. I also wanted to try pink hair as I have always stuck to traditional hair colours. I  have used a diecut from Cricut Ornamental Iron to frame her and a great sentiment from Gingers House.

Rebecca
It was only when I came to make my card for this challenge I don't really have very many "funny" stamps in my stash- so I decided to go with the suggestion of googly eyes!

Fiona
For my card I have used a Karen's Doodles digi stamp. I found the quote online and typed it out into a font that I liked. I bet by the time this fisherman got home and told his friends about this fish it was about 3 foot long lol !!!

Mynnette
I've used a fabulous free digi from Melonheadz and a self made digi sentiment (You make me SQUEAL with delight) to create this pink and punny card.  Now who to give it to?

Sharon
I made this card for a friend at work who loves to buy shoes! I've used the Just Keep Calm stamp set by JustRite, clear embossing powder and Distress Inks.

Josephine
I've always thought this Stitchy Bear fairly looks like she won't brook any nonsense, and that's perfect for this card for my husband. His regular reply to almost anything these days is, 'Fair Enough,' which I think sounds like, 'Fairy Nuff,' hence the sentiment! I've left it very plain because my oh hates clutter of any kind!

Yvonne
The words here are  from an Indigo Blu stamp set, they will appeal to a friend who is reaching a certain age!  and would rather like to forget it.

Carole
I have made an easel card using the 'Margarita' digi stamp and sentiment from Whimsie Doodles. It's my first try with Promarkers - so was a bit of an experiment!

Lin
I chose a Bugaboo image because it went with the sentiment I had in mind, which I have adapted from a quote by Stephen Fry. Embossing folder from Crafters Companion. Hope my Sister doesn't slap my face when she sees it!
