#203 Bling’s The Thing

Lin is hosting our first challenge of 2018, Bling's The Thing. We would like to see lots of bling, ie, glitter, gems, or anything else that's sparkly.

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it meets the Bling's The Thing theme.

Before we get down to the team's creations, we have relaxed our rules a little and no longer have a limit of 15 entries into our challenge, but we still require a permanent link to our challenge post in your post.

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

Lin

My 'bling' is layers of glitter card and mirri card. More details on my blog

Mary

I used a stamp from the Louise set of Scruffy Little Cats colouring it using Spectrum Noir pens, make up and Liquid Pearls. I added gems to each flower centre and then matted and layered the image onto glitter card, mirri and white card.

Angela

Hi all. Made this with Graphic 45 papers which I embellished with Stickles Glitter Glue and bright red and gold brads all layered onto a black card blank.

Glenda

The papers are all sparkly and I added some rhinestones and a silver shiny tag holder to complete the bling effect. The flower already had pearls as it center.

Judy

For this week's card I used an old rubber stamp from my collection called Rose Coloured Fairy by Stamps Happen that I coloured with Copic markers and pencils. To make my card sparkle I added glitter washi tape, Wink of Stella, glitter paper and gems.

June

I've used one of the new embossing folders with the combined die and highlighted the swirls with bling. I also adhered the cut out heart to the inside of the card and edged it with larger pieces of bling. Happy crafting!

Maike

On my card I have used an image by Sugar Pea Designs which I love and which is absolutely perfect for this challenge. It even had a sentiment with the word "gem" in it ;o) Hope you like all the glitter and sparkle - the cute gopher certainly seems content with it. Happy crafting, Maike

Hello, today I want to share with you my first card for first communion which I made this year. I used pastel colors combo and added some gems and flowers.

Josephine

I've used Twinkling H2Os for background and image colouring on this as well as some bronze embossing powder, sticky gems and mirror card.

Margaret

Happy New Year everyone!!! For my card, I used some layered papers and added a piece of lace with a row of tiny pearls alongside. I have included a few gem flourishes in the flower cluster and added a large glass gem to the chippie.

Kimx

I know that Christmas is a dim and distant memory, but it is also the perfect occasion for a bit of bling, so here is the card that I made for my Granddaughter.

There is lots of glitter and sparkle, and a bit of Glossy Accents as well.

We look forward to seeing what you can come up with!

Jackie

My card was made using some images from a MCS kit, and utilised some left over shiny art deco paper I had in my stash.  There are gems highlighting the corners and it hasn't come out very well in the photo, but the dresses are dotted with glitter!

Marlene
I have used a vintage photo which comes as a set called Memories of Philomena from Crafts and Me Shop. I used lots of embellishments and distressed the edges.
