#106 Winter FUN BUT NOT CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR!!!

Please note our challenge is WINTER FUN not Winter, solitary trees and other Winter related items, unless they depict something you can have fun with DO NOT COUNT

Good morning everyone. This is our last challenge for 2013, and it’s hosted by one of our team who is sadly leaving us after this challenge, Marie.

Before we get down to the nitty gritty, I should like to take this opportunity of thanking my fabulous team. To those who have left during the year, or are leaving at the end of this year I bid a fond farewell, and to those staying, are you insane? LOL. Thank you for the hours you put in and the fabulous designs you create. If you are leaving us, I wish you luck in your new ventures and if you are staying, thanks for sticking around!

I should also like to thank ALL of this year’s sponsors, without whom there would be no prizes!

Who we are thrilled to say will be back with us next year
Who we are delighted to say will also be back with us next year

SIR STAMPALOT
Again we are thrilled to have Sir Stampalot back with us next year
Who have been supporting us here since we started, a special Thank You to you!

and last but most definitely not leastWOODWARE CRAFT COLLECTION
Who again, we are delighted to say will be returning with us in 2014

We have some changes planned for 2014, and a couple of new sponsors, and we look forward to seeing you then, but for now......

Onto our final challenge for 2013

Our hostess, Marie, would like to see your interpretation of Winter Fun. PLEASE NOTE, we do not want to see an obvious Christmas or New Year greeting as this challenge is about Winter Fun and not necessarily Christmas! In other words no Christmas cards/projects or New Year cards/projects, but some form of fun you might have during the Winter, for example, skiing, skating, sledding, building a snowman, snowballing.

We are sponsored by

Here is how the team interpreted the challenge:-

 Marie
A card made with a TPS image as focus. She's coloured with Letraset markers and paired up with some lovely dp's from Panduro. A ribbon that is much more pink IRL together with some lace, metal corners, snow flakes and pearls gives the card some details.

Viv
My make for this challenge was a quickie card using an old snowman image, an embossing folder, some dies and lots of Stickles! He looks like he's having a lot of fun skating in his ear muffs I think!

I got to work with this lovely image from our sponsors, Paper Shelter. I used the ready-coloured image and paper supplied, cut the image using a Nestibility and matted with a Grand oval using gunmetal mirror card. I completed the card with snowflakes cut from the same card using a Cuttlebug die.

I also used an image from one of our sponsors - The Paper Shelter.  I used promarkers to colour in the image, and some paper from my stash and distress inks.

My Image is a Paper Shelter one called 'Fantasy on Ice', merged with a digital silhouette tree and coloured with Copics, I added some glossy accents to look like ice (doesn't show so good in the photo)

For Winter Fun you need : 'Fantasy on Ice' digi from our sponsors Paper Shelter, snowflakes dies from Marianne Design and Nellie Snellen, design papers, emboss folder with snowflakes, and Spellbinder's leaf die for the Christmas star flower.

For my card I have used a Crafter's Companion stamp which I have coloured with my ProMarkers. I have added some stickles and perfect pearls for snowfall and snow on the ground. My papers are from LOTV and DCWV. To embellish I have added some flowers and gems from my stash.

I have used a lovely pre-coloured image from Lili of the Valley for my card, cut out with my nesties. The background is a Snowflake stamp CRR122 Cling Snowfall available from our sponsors SirStampalot.

I have used an image from our sponsors - The Paper Shelter - called 'Ice Skating Friends'. It's coloured using Promarkers, and simply matted and layered on a selection of Kanban cardstock.

I think I may have gone "silly" instead of "funny". Lol.  I've used Hero Arts and Tim Holtz Stamps. Paper pieced the hat and scarf and drew the face freehand. The sentiment is PC generated. Mounted onto some gold printed vellum, touch of stickles and a bow.

I was fortunate enough to work with one of our sponsor's image and paper sets from The Paper Shelter, "Fantasy on Ice". I decided to use the pre-coloured version of the digi and paper from the kit. I did add glitter to the snowflakes on the paper to give it a bit of sparkle, as well as a glittery silver ribbon for my bows. In keeping with the snowflake theme, I stamped "Happy Birthday To You" onto a die-cut snowflake.

I used a paper shelter image for this card - she's so pretty!! Snowflakes made with a SB cut and tuck die.

My image comes from our Sponsor, The Paper Shelter, and is called Fantasy On Ice. She is perfect for a winter birthday!

#105 Clean and Simple, Winners and Top 5

Viv was the hostess for our Clean and Simple challenge - she has chosen her Winner/Top 5 as follows:-
" I know lots of people find CAS difficult and there were the odd one or two that couldn't resist the layers/embellishment overload(!) but  many did - there were so many gorgeous CAS cards that picking out just a few was a terribly difficult choice!"

for the prize from

No 10 Elaine
 Wonderful CAS card!

and for the prize from

Beautiful colouring and the ribbon/scoring adds interest but retains the CAS look

and Viv's Top 5  in numerical order are:-

No 38 Toni
 Lovely masking and sponging!

No 58 Anita
Gorgeous example of stamping and embossing on Vellum!

No 87 Gemma
Clean lines, perfect stamping!

No 94 Stempeloni
Showing that CAS does not have to be all white!

No 102 Stamped by C
Great stamping/embossing finished with a fab shadow greeting

Congratulations to you all, please feel free to display our Winner’s badge or Top 5 badge on your blogs. Would the two winners please contact me at the address in the sidebar stating the number of the challenge, the title of the challenge and which prize they have won in the subject line

The winners have until 22nd December to claim their prize, after which time I am afraid the prize(s) will be forfeit. As we choose our winners, rather than having a random number thingy to pick them it's too difficult and time consuming to go back again and go through the entries to pick out new winners. Neither, sadly do we have time to chase the winners up.

Our next challenge will be our last for this year, so please come back at 12 to join in the fun.
