#267 Things That Go Bump In The Night

Before we get to today’s challenge theme, I have an announcement to make. After 9 years of running things here at Crafty Cardmakers it is with a heavy heart I have made the decision to close the blog. I have had health issues for some time now and I have come to the realisation that actually struggling on like this has been stifling any creativity I started out with. Sadly what was an enjoyable part of my week has become a chore. It hasn't helped that blogger decided to fix what was not broken and made it more difficult to edit posts than pre-change.

So this will be our last challenge. I will be back on 9th November with the winner and top 5 of this challenge but that will be our last post.

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank ALL the members of the Crafty Cardmakers Design Team both present and past for all their support and amazing creativity over the last nine years. I will miss you all and wish you all much success in your future endeavours. Hopefully, after a bit of a break from me, we will see each other around blogland! Thank you Ladies and Gent.

Kim is hosting today's challenge, Things That Go Bump In The Night!

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, the spookier the better, as long as it meets the theme.

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

Kimx

An old friend has her birthday on Halloween so this is for her.
The image is a new Simply Print from Lili of the Valley along with background paper and plenty of dies.

Lots of Tim Holtz stamps and dies here and details for making can be found on my blog. Happy Halloween, Angela xXx

I used Stampendous and Stampin Up Halloween stamps for this card along with Distress Inks and Copics.

I used a digi from Beccy's Place which I coloured using Promarkers and paper printed from Crafting's downloadable Halloween Artwork pack.

I used a stamp set I have recently acquired from a friend. It is an old stamp set by Simon Says Stamp but very new to me and I love the way the images take up a lot of room on a card but still leave space to create a scene around them.

For my card today I have used a Tilda Stamp, called Little Witch
cut out the Bat from some old paper added some flowers and a Ribbon Bow

We look forward to seeing what you can come up with!

#265 Create A Tag

Dr. Monika is hosting today's challenge, Create a Tag.

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece or home decor, as long as it includes a tag you have created, or it can just be a tag on it's own.

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

I made a Mini Tag Book for our challenge. I love creating backgrounds with different textures, so for this Tag Book I have used gorgeous Mudra Stamp sets and stencils. I added the colours using Lindy's Stamp Gang's magical shakers and Prima Marketing - Finnabair acrylic paints and wax. I have used Tim Holtz paper dolls, glue dots, cheese cloth, decor stones, left over pieces of 7 Dots studio's paper and negative of chipboard pieces to add more details to my project. I can't wait to see your beautiful creations... xoxo

Jackie
I was asked to make the tags for a friend who was responsible for her sister in law to be's hen party bags - she had very definite ideas, and they were very pink!  I made all the tags using my scanncut.

Josephine

For the background of this tag, I used a John Next Door Media Plate. I inked it with distress ink, then sprinkled it with some dissolved Brushos. I stamped over the result with stamps from Creative Stamped magazine using Versafine Clair ink. I mounted the result on to a tag cut using a Sizzix die.

I made a tag and a tag container as a Birthday Gift for a friend. I obtained the inspiration and instructions from Pinterest.

I have a tag card for you made with one of my Masterboards. Lots of AALL and Create stamps, dies and stencils. The large triangles were die cut with 'Honey Bee Cuts'. The sentiment and washi tape are by Tim Holtz.

For this tag challenge I chose to use a chipboard tag along with some Stamperia rice paper. To the rice paper I added some stencilling, butterflies, a stamp,  distress ink, and ribbon.

Not long until Christmas, now ;o) Since I am usually already late with sending out Christmas cards I usually totally forget about tags for my presents. So this was the perfect opportunity to create some.

I used a digi from Beccy's Place called Gerbera Frame and coloured it using Alcohol pens. After cutting it out using a Tattered Lace reflections tag die and matting it onto white card I added a bee which was also cut out using a Tattered Lace die.

Marlene
I decided to make a Christmas Tag, I have used Marianne Design Tag Set a Whimsy Stamps Owl Stamp and papers from Photo Play

Found this little blue tag in my stash so, I added some texture and stamping and mounted it onto kraft card.  A piece of book paper, a doily, a couple of gems and a few black stamens complete the cluster.  Popped on some nice words and finished it off with a bit of twine.  Looking forward to seeing your entries!  Have fun!

Lin
I have used a combination of Julie Hickey and Polkadoodles stamps, some Art by Marlene collage paper, and Graphic 45 Staples Tags and dies, details on my blog

We look forward to seeing what you can come up with!

#264 Shabby Chic

Angela is hosting today's challenge, Shabby Chic.

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece or home decor, as long as it meets the theme.

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

Angela
I love Shabby Chic designs and I've made this card using printed papers and dies by Crafter's Companion finished with black die cut flowers by Tim Holtz, Stickles glitter glue, splashed paint, enamel dots and a dragonfly. I look forward to seeing what you all come up with xXx

Josephine
I made some visitors' face masks for donating to a hospital where I volunteer, and started with plain ivory cotton which I stamped and tinted with a mixture of Versacraft and Versafine Clair inks (which both survive washing to some extent!)

My Shabby Chic card was created using design papers, stamps, lace, ribbon, die cut leaves, flowers, prills and a sweet butterfly cabochon.  See the details on my blog.  Happy crafting!! x

Mary
The flowers for the bouquet were cut using dies from Carnation Crafts and the accompanying vignettes. However the magenta ink on my printer was misbehaving so I have only yellow, pale blue and off white flowers. They are tied together with a yellow ribbon and the stems tucked into the frame.

Judy
I made this cards fusing  rubber stamps from my stash.  Bella is an unmounted stamp which I think was from a collection of stamps I bought years ago and I think the company was from Vancouver and is out of business now.  I tore the edges to give the card pieces and inked to give the card an aged look,  The ribbon was tea dyed.

I created the card using papers from the paper pack titled 'Old Lace'  by Stamperia.. Not being a shabby chic expert I winged it. The flowers are from a pack I bought at a local craft shop and the pearls are left overs in  my stash. The flowery circles are from die cuts and the flowery circle was finished off with a button from my stash.

Marlene

For my Card I have used a Dutch Doobahdoo stencil, a vintage topper and Maya Papers,Rolled Roses, and Pearls.

For my card I used a bunch of shabby looking papers and added two critters in a vintage style as well.

I have made a page in my journal using a background I made quite a while ago and some Clever Prints stamps and chipboard embellishments. Please see my blog for details

Dr. Monika
Hello creative souls, I made this tiny shabby chic DIY flower vase using air drying clay. I have used MUDRA's decor stones (Medium, Mini and Micro) to embellish this tiny piece. I have used Prima - Finnabair's acrylic paints (Metallique Vintage Rose and Opal Magic Blue- Gold) and Brushed Iron wax to highlight the details. I invite you all to visit my channel for a step by step video tutorial. I hope you will love it..

We look forward to seeing what you can come up with!
