#183 Go Green

Judy is hosting our challenge today, and the theme is Go Green. We want to see lots of lovely lush green on your creations in honour of St. Patrick's Day which is on Friday 17th March, or you could make a St. Patrick's Day card.

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it's either mostly green or has a St. Patrick's Day theme.

Please remember our 15 total challenge rule!

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

I chose to make a card using a rubber stamp by Stampers Anonymous' Tim Holtz Collection called Tree Line. When I think green my first thought is of the beautiful forest that surrounds my home. I used a combination of watercolours and Stampin' Up Mossy Meadow waterbased dye ink to colour the card.

I chose to cross stitch a pattern by Barbara Thomson Designs which I made into a coaster. I love Rennie Mackintosh type designs, and this one was mainly green, so fits the challenge!
Here to show you a card I made for a friend who loves cats. Used one of the Tim Holtz cat and balloon dies, some very green patterned  papers, completed the design with gems and ribbon. Happy crafting, Angela x
I added to my cards for next Christmas and used Tattered Lace's charisma holly die and CD ROM. I edged the layers with narrow silver ribbon and hid the joins with silver card candi.

For my card I used a green woodgrain paper and added a little more interest with some texture paste and a stencil.   As a focal point I added some more layered papers and a flower cluster which includes some gauze and die cut leaves.  I also added some prills, a little glass glitter and a bow made from seam binding which was coloured using green Liquitex ink.

I used mix of green papers and added flowers. Sentiment: Today is your Birthday.

When I read about our theme "Go Green" I thought of this stamp which I had wanted to use on a card forever ;o) I used Zig markers to colour it and Distress Inks to create the background. happy crafting, everyone.

I am in need of masculine cards so choose to make this monkey card with a fairly simple textured green background, yet full of good cheer with a happy image.

I love St. Patrick's Day and decided to go with a traditional card for this challenge.  The cute little shamrock stamp and sentiment are from Endless Creations and the stitched rectangle dies are MFT.  A little claddagh charm was added for interest.  A beautiful St. Patrick's Day to all!

I don't do St Patrick's day so I went with a card that is mostly green.

My card is both green in colour and in the sense I was using up scraps - left over bits from kits I had bought in the past, and a piece of marbled paper I had in my stash.
I have gone with a design from Heartfelt Creations' Peacock Paisley paper pad. In order to szhuzzh it up a little I have glittered parts of the peacock and around the frames. More details on my blog

I have been playing with my Cricut a lot recently having bought the cartridge To You From Me and a scoring tool, so I couldn't resist having a go at the gift card holder.  Have used some old paper from First Editions and used a butterfly punch, some gems, raffia cord and beads and a couple of dies for the sentiment label - not a marker in sight!
The base of my tag is a mixture of greens but I have also used stash that I had previously made and stored. Full details are available on by blog
I chose to make a card from the Cricut Design Space.  This is one of the Make It Now Projects.  This one is called "Christmas Bow Card" and the images are from the Anna Griffin's Christmas Cards and Embellishments cartridge. My first Christmas card for 2017.

#182 Add Some Texture

Maike is hosting our challenge today, and the theme is Add Some Texture. You can interpret this how you like, either embossing, heat or dry, texture paste, fabric, etc. let your imagination go wild.

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it has lots of lovely texture.

Please remember our 15 total challenge rule!

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

I wanted to have many different textures on my card so I chose to dry emboss the background, but leave an area smooth. I also added some very smooth enamel dots and of course this cutie from Avery Elle.

I've used dies from Sizzix, Sue Wilson, and Tattered Lace, along with a Cuttlebug embossing folder to make this card. I love the texture of embossing, and I think the Ditsy Flower dies are going to become a favourite.

I created this small canvas using watercolours, Stampendous cling stamp, stencils and washi tape. I love adding texture to a piece using molding paste coloured with PanPastels.

I created a masculine double fold card for this challenge. Lots of paper layers, all with distressed edges, and I have added texture paste through a stencil, burlap webbing and washi tape.

I made this card using a masterboard which had been embellished with Glass Bead Texture Gel by Winsor and Newton, then matted and layered it with the spotty textured card. Finished it off with the addition of die cut flowers, ribbon, sentiment and gems. Happy crafting, Angela x

I have used a Tatty Twinkles stamp called Coffee with friends. I paper pieced the chair back, Tatty's clothes and the table using varying textured papers and used handmade paper to frame the image.

The textures used in the making of this card are: Fun foam leather, Twine, Embossed feathers and background paper showcasing various type of texture.

Today I made mixed-media card. At the beginning my background was a pice of white paper. I used watercolor paper. I splashed it with liquid water color ( green and dark green), later I postmarked it with some images and used stencil. I applayed gel medium and covered it with embossing powder. Next I used some distress ink - tea dye. I also added some metal embellishments.

I added texture to my card by using an AG Cuttlebug Embossing folder on the frame and background of the frame. I added multi-layered flowers & gold foiled flourishes. This is one of my favorite card layouts and it can be found in Cricut Design Space Access.

For texture my background paper from First Editions Neroli pad has a fabric texture to it then I have embossed the red panels with swiss dots, the speech bubble also has some embossing as do the little leaf die cuts. I punched the butterfly twice, first in the backing paper and then in some vellum and layered them up finishing off with some little blue gems.

I've used Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture Paste and a mask for the main design and covered the mask with the texture paste. I used a Memory Box Die for the centre of the design and cut 2 swirls in purple and one in white, overlapped them and adhered to the centre of the card. The sentiment is from my stash that I'd previously stamped onto vellum and 'fussy cut' it out. Several thin mat and layers plus the purple gems completed this 8" square card

Full details are available on my blog

I also used some Phill Martin texture paste on my butterfly card - I used a stencil which came in a create and craft member gift pack, and some lace, ribbon and papers from my stash.

As I have just become a Great Auntie for the second time I decided to make a baby card for this challenge. I have used an embossing folder for the background coloured using plenty of Starlight paint, Sparkle Medium and Wax from Imagination.

For my card I decided to use a Butterfly embossing folder by Crafts-Too to create the background and focal point. I also included some crackle texture on the background and hessian fabric along with chunky glitter.
