#260 Create Your Own Background

Jackie is hosting today's challenge, Create Your Own Background

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece or home decor, as long as it meets the theme.

This will be our last challenge until August 17th so the team can enjoy some time doing other things!

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

Jackie

My background was made using a simple stamp and masking technique to create the centre "topper" for the sentiment. Very simple, and quick!

Josephine

I've used a Crafter's Companion rotating background stamp, memento ink, and dies from Sizzix and Elizabeth Craft to make this card.

Judy

To create my background I blended several shades of Distress Oxides on watercolour paper and then sprayed watercolour paper with water. The flowers were stamped with VersaMark and embossed with gold embossing power and then the flowers were coloured Mungyo Water Colors.

Glenda

I used an old technique of combining shaving cream and ink in a bowl and gently pressing cardstock on top of it. When dry I added the leaves , flower and sentiment.

Marlene

For my card I have used Distress Inks and Memento Inks and coloured the Birds with Copics
the stamps were free from a magazine a while back

Mary

I created my background paper by using part of the rose stamp from Carnation Crafts 'Before the Rainbow' collection and colouring it using Derwent Coloursoft pencils. I then matted and layered this onto dark and light orange card. I used the same colours for the mats and layers for the decoupaged rose flower which was cut from a downloaded vignette using a Carnation Crafts die.

Angela

To create this background I made an A4 Masterboard with a mop up sheet of card and Altenew leaf stamp. The main image and the sentiments are also by Altenew and the stitching by Crescendoh.

Tutorial for making is available on my blog.

Jo

For this simplest of backgrounds I blended 3 inks, stamped over & finished
with some gems.

Maike

I love ink-blended background and colours in rainbow order, so I thought I would combine those two for this card. Have a lovely week and happy crafting everyone ;o)

Kimx

I used a Multiple Resist Technique for the background of my card made with Airless Mister Sprays and an Andy Skinner stamp.

My background was created with distress inks and bleeding art tissue paper, and it's a view inside my brain right now!  Please see my blog for more details

Dr. Monika

I have made these colourful backgrounds for cards, using Papericious sprays, Tubby Craft pigment inks and Tim Holtz distress inks. I made cute tiny flowers using sizzix and stamps are from Mudra and Tubby Craft.

We look forward to seeing what you can come up with, and see you back here on 17th August

#259 Masculine

Margaret is hosting today's challenge, Masculine.

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece or home decor, as long as it meets the theme.

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

Margaret

For my card I used Kaisercraft paper and added texture paste through a stencil. I then created a small collage with clocks, cogs and die cuts. See my blog for details. Have a fabulous day and enjoy your crafting! xx

Angela

All these stamp and dies were freebies from magazines. The leaves were die cut from some papers that I had coloured with Brushos and I completed the design with a puddle of Stickles Glitter Glue under the wellies. Happy crafting, Angela xXx

Jackie

My project was a napkin covered notebook, complete with texture paste to give it contours. This was for a boat owning friend who wanted a notebook to record sailing time...

Josephine

I made a card for my husband's birthday using Brushos, a Woodware stamp, a Spellbinders die and some lovely gold toned stick on studs from The Range.

Glenda

A birthday card for a brother-in-law using paper from Stampin' Ups 'Dimensions' paper pack and Stampin' Ups 'Basic Black' cardstock.

Judy

I created this mixed media card for a friend for his birthday. I used a Stampington and Company rubber stamp for the main image and several stamps for the background from my stash.

Mary

To make this twisted easel card I have decoupaged a scene using pages from Hunkydory's square little book of planes, trains and automobiles. For the base I used an image printed from their sixth @home USB.

Agnieszka chanya13:

I used brown and craft papers to make this masculine card.

Lin
I used a die from Crafters Companion to make my masculine card. Please see my blog if you fancy the details.

Dr Monika

Hello lovelies!! I made this mixed media art page using gorgeous colours of Lindy's Stamp Gang magical shakers and stamps from Mudra. I have used mixed media supplies like White Gesso, Modeling Paste and stencil from Prima - Finnabair. I hope you like it. Stay safe and healthy, my sweet friends.

#258 Wedding

Jackie is hosting today's challenge, Wedding.

Who knew when I decided what challenge was going to be on what week back last year that in June 2020 there would be no weddings because most of the world would be locked down! It's surreal the situation we find ourselves in. My heart goes out to all those young couples who have been planning their wedding, sometimes for years, only to have to cancel it, or change the plans drastically. Hopefully one day soon we will be back to some form of normality.

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, home decor, or Invites, Save the Dates etc. as long as it meets the theme.

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

Jackie

My card was made for a friend whose daughter was getting married. She wanted me to use the wedding colour scheme and a picture of the bouquet "in there somewhere!"

Josephine

I made a background with Brushos, then added a layer of tracing paper heat embossed in silver. The flowers were made using dies from the Susan's Garden range, tinted with Pan Pastel and the sentiment was computer-generated (and the watermark placed to hide the recipients' names!)

Glenda

A tri shutter wedding card!

Judy

I used a digital image by Time 4 Tea Designs. I coloured the card with Copics, pencil crayons and a Wink of Stella. For the background I used a Stampers Companion Embossing folder. To complete the card I added ribbon and wedding flowers.

Mary

I used a digi from Beccy Muir and coloured it using Promarkers and Spectrum Noir Sparkles adding Liquid Pearls to the flower centres. I used a die from Tattered Lace's Floating in the air circle surprise set to cut the mat for the digi and finished the card with some gold gems.

Angela

I made this with one of my own Masterboards and a stamp set by 'Stamps by Me' and finished it with Stickles Glitter Glue and a die cut sentiment. Happy crafting, Angela xXx

Margaret

My card is very simple. Used watercolour paper as the substrate and then added a strip of lace, wrapped some gold twine around the card and created a flower cluster on top. The sentiment was computer generated and it was done! Have a great day and enjoy your crafting! xx

Marlene

I have used a Lili of the Valley stamp called The Big Day coloured with Promarkers added some Flowers and a double ribbon bow

Agnieszka chanya13

I made a simple, romantic, wedding card with lots of flower.

Kimx

I used a Crafters Companion Classic Rose Decoupage pad and co-ordinating die to make my wedding card, along with an Altenew background stamp and platinum embossing powder.

Dr Monika

I made a mixed media tag using gorgeous flowers and chipboard from Little Birdie, added Finnabair patina paste using CrafTreat stencil. The used pattern paper is from KaiserCraft. I have used some IOD clay elements to decorate the tag. Done some random stamping on the background with Mudra Stamps. Hope you like it. Stay safe and healthy, my lovely friends. Lot of love..

Lin

My wedding card was created with a Tiddly Inks image and Crafters companion papers. Please see my blog for details
