Challenge 100 - Winged Things!

Posted deleted, please see this post instead

http://craftycardmakers.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/100-winged-things.html
Josephine here. First, I'd like to apologise for the lateness of this (and the new challenge) post. Lin has been having some computer problems, and has only just been able to get in touch to ask me to take over! Computers are wonderful things when they work!

Josephine was our hostess for our Christmas Snow and Ice
challenge and she has chosen her Winner/Top 5 as follows:-

for the $10 gift voucher from

No. 48: KalySto
and for the two sheets of stamps from

No 28: LorraineB

and Josephine's Top 5 in order of entry are:-

No 55: LorraineA

No 63: Kathy Roney

No 70: Papersniffer

No 71: Crafty

No 73: Coops

Congratulations to you all, please feel free to display our Winner’s badge or Top 5 badge on your blogs. Would the two winners please contact me at the address in the sidebar stating the number of the challenge, the title of the challenge and which prize they have won in the subject line

The winners have until 29th September to claim their prize, after which time I am afraid the prize(s) will be forfeit. As we choose our winners, rather than having a random number thingy to pick them it's too difficult and time consuming to go back again and go through the entries to pick out new winners. Neither, sadly do we have time to chase the winners up.

Watch this space for the new challenge post which will be up as soon as I can get it there!

DI'S DIGISTAMPS
with a $10 GIFT VOUCHER

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art.

Long may it continue!

Here is how the team interpreted the challenge:-

Josephine

I've used a Michael Powell image which I stamped onto smooth card before colouring with Promarkers. The background paper was made using a mixture of ink dusters, stencilling and rubber stamping. The holly sprig was cut using a Joanna Sheen die.

Betty CH
I've drawn the background using watercolours to make Magnolia Tilda look like she is walking in the snow.
A  homemade stamped/embossed background using metallic powders, with a Stampendous image stamped with Memento London Fog.

Cindy
A very simple Christmas Card using one of the first stamps I ever bought. Snowflakes have been  stamped with versamark and dusted with mica powders for a shimmery background and of course, there's a little bit of glitter!!

Viv
A CAS wintry themed card from me this time - bright white pearl card, embossing folders, snowflake dies, lots of stickles and some blingy bits!

For my card I have used a LOTV stamp called "Santa" which I have coloured with my ProMarkers and added lots of Icicle Stickles. My paper is from the Fizzy Moon Christmas pack. For my snowflakes I have used my Die-namic dies.

For my card I merged 2 images the Snowglobe is by NPerry and Jackie Frost by Tickled Pink. She is coloured with Flex & Promarkers and I added some Frantage around the edges to look like snow.

For my tag I clear embossed some snowflakes then inked with Stormy Sky. Mr Snowman and the holly garland are coloured with Promarkers then I added some faux snow, stickles and glitter (it's really quite shiny and sparkly IRL).  The sentiment is American Crafts, all other stamps are Hero Arts.

I have used a snowflake embossing folder on the kraft card base and a snowy scene embossing folder for the main image which I've lightly dusted over with Distress Ink to highlight the image and added stickles for some snowy sparkle!

This time I have been playing with embossing powders. Both the "normal" detailed one in white using an image from IndigoBlu. My "snowy" dots is made with the Frantage embossing powders in white and some glitter flakes to that. A piece of lace between the layers finish this simple card off.

For my card I have used Bertie the Snowman from one of our sponsors Hobby Art.

My card was made entirely from my stash this time - I used a Hunkydory topper left over from a kit 2 years ago, and a plain card base embossed with an embossing folder and highlighted with distress inks.

I used this cute LOTV stamp on watercolor paper and colored using water soluble pens and a water-brush. I touch of glitter finishes off this simple Christmas scene.

Tracey
Christmas snow and ice always makes me think of blue and white or silver, which is why I chose these colours, and clear cold winter nights with a sky full of stars. All of my papers are from HOTP, ribbon is Offray and the die-cut stars have faux stitching in silver.

Lin
My image is from a free CDRom, I think it was from the My Craft Studio of cds. All the embellishments are from Craftwork Cards from their Ornaments pad, but I glittered them and added dimensional snow to them, and the front of the card with a snow writer.

#98 Fun In The Sun

Welcome to our latest challenge, hosted by Lin, who has chosen the theme Fun in The Sun

In the hopes of encouraging the sun to shine for longer than 5 minutes, Lin would like to see something relating to the summer fun, so that might be holiday related, or something in the garden, basically something you might do outdoors when the sun is shining that's fun, clean and legal!!

Please ensure your card meets the required element to qualify for a winner or Top 5 slot.

PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE RULES BEFORE ADDING YOUR CREATION AND CHECK IT MEETS THE CRITERIA AS LAID OUT ABOVE - ANY ENTRY NOT COMPLYING WILL UNFORTUNATELY BE REMOVED

Here is how the team interpreted the challenge

Lin

My image is from one of our sponsor's, Saturated Canary, called Smokin' Hot, and she is coloured with my promarkers. She definitely looks like she has had fun in the sun.

Yvonne
I used a stamped image and some bright papers for layering on this card. I think they look like they are having fun in the sun.

Vania
For all of us the Summer means holidays, beach, ice cream...I am pretty sure everyone of us like ice cream especially in hot summer days! That's why I chose one gorgeous digi from Saturated Canary

Josephine

When I saw this image from our Sponsor, Saturated Canary, it reminded me so much of my elder son and my daughter, that I had to use it! I added the speech bubble in Photoshop Elements and coloured with Promarkers.

Julie

My Image is 'Toes in the Sand' by our sponsor Saturated Canary, coloured with Promarkers.  The Surfboard was a clipart download that I have merged with Clipart Flowers and Palm Trees.

Suze
I too have used an image by Saturated Canary, the signpost and vintage caravan are part of the "Winnie Goes Camping" image.  Coloured with Promarkers and framed up using a Spellbinders die and various DPs. The grass is a piece of sheer ribbon and I added some stitching for detail.

Carole
Summer for me means our annual camping holiday!! So I have used "Camping" from our sponsors Saturated Canary - coloured with Promarkers. Various card scraps from my box were used for matting/layering etc.

Fiona
For my card I have used two digi stamps from Pollycraft which I have coloured with my ProMarkers. The papers that I have used are from Dovecraft Back to Basics III and Craftwork Card "Macaroon" pack. I have added lots of Stickles, some pink gems and some tiny buttons as embellishments.

Tried surfing once........ spent more time laying on the board clinging on for dear life than 'riding the waves'!!   So this is an image of what might have been (sighs....) LOL
Saturated Canary's  'Toes in the Sand' image coloured with promarkers, lots of hessian/jute, shells and authentic sea glass on a driftwood type background. Have co-ordinated the inside but you'll need to visit my blog to see!

I have used the 'Winnie Goes Camping' image from our fab sponsor Saturated Canary, coloured with ProMarkers and edges distressed with Pumice Stone and Iced Spruce Distress Inks. The backing paper is from MME's Quite Contrary paper pad. I gathered some cotton lace to make the flower, added a brad, stamped 'sweet' and die cut the '16'. A perfect card for my niece - their family caravan is kept at a campsite in a nearby village and they quite often stay there at weekends during the summer season for fun in the sun (or rain!!).

What do we need to have fun in the sun? - transparent photographic paper, Spectrum Noir set of markers, distress crackle paint, Spellbinder's die, a little sand and shells and liquid pearls for the hair of our sponsor Saturated Canary's "Pearl" stamp

Cindy
I have used a mix of stamped and digital images for this card, including one from our sponsor Saturated Canary to make this beach themed card.

Feebsy
I think going swimming in the sunshine is great fun, I just wish I looked as fabulous as this beach babe! Of course the image is from our wonderful sponsor Saturated Canary and is called "To the Lake", papers are from a DCWV stack

Kimx
I have used Molly Blooms stamps provided by our lovely sponsors SirStampalot for my 'Fun in the Sun' card.

I have chosen a sponsor image from Saturated Canary, titled "To the Lake". I coloured her with Copic markers, then used an EK Success corner punch to make a 'frame' to mat her. My sentiment is from CTMH, as is the ink it is stamped with.

All links will now be moderated, please be patient whilst I get the chance to check that your link meets the requirements before adding it to the blog.
