#116 Flourishing - Use one or more flourishes

Sorry we were MIA last time around. I had intended to have a Mixed Media challenge two weeks ago but it’s all change here at Cardmakers’ Towers, and a new blog for that style of challenges will be launching soon.

I added glittery embossed glittery flourishes to this explosion card made with papers from Craftwork Cards.

For my card I have used a Woodware stamp coloured with my ProMarkers. My flourish papers are digi papers from Pink Petticoat. I have also die cut some flourishes with a Cheery Lynn "Fanciful Flourish" die.

For my card I've used a sponsor's image: Daisy Fairy by The Stamping Boutique. I used a couple of Sizzix flourishes which I've decorated with daisies.

A very quick and easy card using the large flourish from Stampin Up's Baroque Motifs, sentiment is by Papermania and the butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch.

My card has been created using a stamped panel from my ,bits box', an embossed flourish background and a couple of Cheery Lynn flourishes covered in Frantage Embossing Enamel.

For my card I have used an image from our Sponsors, The Stamping Boutique, called Whimsical Bird. I have coloured it using Spectrum Noirs - and gone for a bright look!!

#115 It’s A Bug’s Life – INSECT as your MAIN FOCAL point

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like-minded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

I've used some Sizzix dies and a technique I spotted recently of insetting the die cuts into the background. More details on my blog.

I created a background with a clarity stencil and dylusions. I also used Dylusions on the Chocolate Baroque stamped butterfly.

I used Sheena Douglas, MFT and Indigo Blue stamps to create my dragonfly card; the background was created with Distress Inks and Perfect Pearls.

My card this time is monochrome black and and white with a stamped and zendoodled butterfly which was covered with microbeads. I used a tonic die for the "doily" and a Martha Stewart punch for the paper ribbon.

#114 A Floral Profusion (Handmade Flowers) Winner and Top 5

Before I announce the winner and Top 5 for our last challenge can I make a plea. Sadly I had to disallow several entries because those people simply hadn’t bothered to read the post prior to adding their entry. They saw the title, Floral Profusion, presumably on Paper Playful and then just went ahead and added their entry even if it had no handmade flowers on it at all. Some were even just images of flowers, and no dimensional flowers were added.

Whilst we are all doing this for fun. The team do work hard to try and inspire you and it’s disheartening when it’s clear that a lot of folks don’t even bother to read the top line of the challenge post (I always define what we want in the top line, it’s not like you have to read through reams of paragraphs to get to the theme!). Anyhow to those of you who did read what we were after, we thank you, and we have our winner and top 5 below.

#114 A Floral Profusion HANDMADE FLOWERS

Fiona is hosting our challenge today and she has chosen 'A Floral Profusion' for her theme. She would love to see your creations which showcase your HANDMADE FLOWERS, the more the merrier!

Some inspiration from our DT

Fiona

I have coloured my image with my ProMarkers. To make my flowers I have used a Cheery Lynn Miniature Rose die and also a Nellie Snellen flower punch.

Josephine

I used a lovely image from our sponsor called 'Butterfly and Ladybird' and teamed it with lots of hand-made flowers!

Cindy

This fortnight I decided to make a wall hanging. The centre image is from our sponsor called 'Tess Summer Fun' and all the flowers have been hand made using a variety of dies.

Carole

The image for my card is 'Benson Bear - Bundle of Hearts' from our sponsor. I have teamed it up with flowers made from Crafter's Companion Rose Quilling dies!!

A layered card with a sentiment and some handmade flowers.

I've made a small gift box using a Sizzix die and adorned it with two handmade flowers. The gingham one is made from ribbon and the cream felt one has been cut with the Tim Holtz pine cone die.
